There was a lot to take in when Meghan Markle arrived at this past weekend’s Trooping the Colour. Her Givenchy cape and surprise white cap sleeves certainly caught our eye, not to mention her Noel Stewart fascinator and chic navy gloves. But amidst all the pomp, circumstance and couture, there was one tiny detail that you might not have noticed.
Take a look at the 37-year-old duchess here, seated next to her husband, Prince Harry. Yup, there’s a small, barely discernible and sparkly item there.
No, it’s not her Givenchy clutch or those massive earrings. The duchess is wearing a never-before-seen ring on her ring finger and it’s reportedly an anniversary gift from Prince Harry.
As you’ll see below, Markle is wearing her tri-diamond engagement ring, a gold wedding band and an eternity diamond ring below that.
Eternity rings, which feature small diamonds wrapped all the way around a band, are popular for push presents and anniversary gifts. Since the duke and duchess celebrated their first wedding anniversary on May 12 and welcomed baby Archie on May 6, Prince Harry couldn’t have picked a more suitable present.
But the duchess isn’t the first royal to receive such a blinged-out gift. Prince William also gave Kate Middleton one after the birth of Prince George.
Although it was a shame baby Archie was too young to attend the festivities, at least we got to see his mom in all her fabulous post-baby glory.
