We Just Got a Sneak Peek at Meghan Markle's New Book (Including a Personal Note from the Duchess Herself)

Meghan Markle is getting ready for the upcoming drop of her new children’s book, The Bench, on June 8. And in anticipation of the release, the Duchess of Sussex is sending copies to her close family and friends. The best part? She’s even taking time to write personal handwritten notes in them.

On Thursday, photographer Gray Malin shared a clip of the copy he received from his pal on his personal Instagram account. In the video, he shows fans and followers the cover of the story, which features a note from the office of the duke and duchess.

During the next part of the footage, we see the inside cover which includes a sweet illustration and personalized note which read, “From one parent to another—all my love from my family to yours. As ever, Meghan.”

He captioned the IG Story, “Received some royal mail. Congrats on your new book M.”

We learned that month that the 39-year-old’s new project is based on a poem she wrote to Prince Harry for Father’s Day. Illustrated by bestselling artist Christian Robinson, the book will be published in print by Penguin Random House and also be made into an audiobook, which will be narrated by Markle herself.

The Bench started as a poem I wrote for my husband on Father’s Day, the month after Archie was born,” Markle said in the press release. “That poem became this story. Christian layered in beautiful and ethereal watercolor illustrations that capture the warmth, joy, and comfort of the relationship between fathers and sons from all walks of life; this representation was particularly important to me, and Christian and I worked closely to depict this special bond through an inclusive lens.”

We’re crossing our fingers for a personalized note in our own copy.
