Meghan Markle Is About to Make a Major Overseas Trip with Husband Prince Harry

Meghan Markle will be cheering from the sidelines at this year’s Invictus Games in the Netherlands, alongside her husband, Prince Harry.

Yesterday, according to People, a spokesman for the Sussexes revealed that the duchess will join Harry at the international sporting competition. The duke himself launched the first Invictus Games in 2014, after attending the Warrior Games (a competition dedicated to wounded servicemen in the United States). This year’s games will be held from April 16 to 22 at The Hague.

According to the official website, the Invictus Games use “the power of sport to inspire recovery, support rehabilitation and generate a wider understanding” for injured servicemen and women.

Back in March, the Duke of Sussex met with the members of the Netherlands team over video chat. The video clip was shared on Twitter and showed the royal practicing Dutch with the athletes.

Harry asked, “So, how do I say, ‘Good afternoon. You’ve done a great job,’ in Dutch?” All four athletes repeated the phrase in Dutch, but they were all out of sync. The duke stared at the screen confused and then one of the players proceeded to repeat the phrase clearly for him to understand. He carefully repeated the words, nailing it on his first try.

Before the video ended, Harry grabbed an orange hat and placed it on his head. Then, he picked up a pair of the same color sunglasses and unzipped his hoodie, revealing an orange ensemble underneath. The gesture was met with a round of applause from the team. The duke stood up, pointed to the camera and said, “Let’s go! We’re ready.”

Meghan and her hubby are ready for kickoff!
