Meghan Markle and Prince Harry Get Extremely Hands-on During Surprise Charity Event Appearance

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry are continuing their charity work in California. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex recently made a surprise appearance at Baby2Baby’s drive-through charity event in Los Angeles.

The L.A.-based nonprofit organization held a socially distanced distribution of school necessities at Knox Elementary School on Wednesday. During the event, the couple distributed items to families in need who are preparing for the new academic year. They even helped children pick out and try new backpacks.

“Thank you to The Duke and Duchess of Sussex for joining our team to help us distribute school supplies, clothing, hygiene items, food and more to children who need these basic essentials more than ever during this unprecedented back to school season,” the charity captioned a post on Instagram.

Of course, the duo wore the appropriate PPE as they surprised recipients in their cars. Markle sported a white blouse, green shorts and a blue-and-white striped mask while Harry opted for a polo, shorts and an army green face covering.

The trip back to Los Angeles comes just weeks after the couple’s recent move to Santa Barbara. The royals’ new home is about 100 miles north of the L.A. estate (formerly owned by Tyler Perry) where they had been residing since the beginning of quarantine. Prior to living in California, the trio spent time on Vancouver Island after they officially stepped down as senior members of the royal family.

We have a feeling these two are going to be spending a lot of time volunteering with this charity, since they no longer have to travel across the pond to get there.
