Royal Look Back: Meghan & Harry’s 1-Year Anniversary Post Revealed Never-Before-Seen Wedding Photos

It's been two years since Meghan Markle and Prince Harry tied the royal knot and officially became the Duke and Duchess of Sussex. And since the couple said, “I do,” a whole lot has changed.

For one thing, they are no longer senior members of the royal family after leaving their posts to become financially independent. Not to mention, they also don’t currently have any forms of social media (for now). So, in honor of their two years of marriage, we’re taking a look back at the post they shared last year for their first wedding anniversary, featuring a black-and-white video via their (now inactive) @SussexRoyal Instagram account.

The video begins with the official Harry and Meghan cypher over the cursive words, "One year ago today..." before a montage of photos. The video gives a glimpse at some behind-the-scenes and never-before-seen shots of the royal couple and their wedding that took place at St. George's Chapel in Windsor Castle on May 19, 2018. It ends with two full-color photos and the sound of the wedding bells ringing in the background.

Among the personal photos not released previously to the public: Prince Harry and Prince William smiling and walking down a set of stairs (presumably after getting ready for the duke's big day and before the ceremony starts), Prince Harry holding his thumb up in front of a black van in a faux-hitchhiking scenario (Harry always crushin' it with those dad jokes), Meghan and her mom Doria Ragland, Harry and Meghan signing the wedding register in the back of the church, Meghan's friends handing her the bouquet and fixing her veil, Harry practicing his vows, and then the couple's first kiss on the steps of the church just after the ceremony.

The caption reads: "Happy one year anniversary to Their Royal Highnesses, The Duke and Duchess of Sussex! Today marks the one year anniversary of the wedding of The Duke and Duchess of Sussex. Their Royal Highnesses exchanged vows at St George’s Chapel within the grounds of Windsor Castle on May 19th, 2018."

The post's caption continues with some information about the video's background music, which was the same song sung at their wedding ceremony during the recessional. "The selected song 'This Little Light of Mine' was chosen by the couple for their recessional. We hope you enjoy reliving this moment and seeing some behind the scenes photos from this special day."

It ends with a personal note from Meghan and Harry: "A message from The Duke & Duchess: Thank you for all of the love and support from so many of you around the world. Each of you made this day even more meaningful."

Congrats on another year, Meghan and Harry! We can’t wait to see how much will change in the upcoming year.
