Meghan Markle’s Next Appearance Was Just Announced—& It’s Going to Be Big

It looks like our anticipation over Meghan Markle’s next major appearance is going to be worth the wait. The Duchess of Sussex was recently announced as a guest speaker at this year's virtual Girl Up Leadership Summit, a three-day online event supporting the Girl Up campaign.

According to the organization's official website, Girl Up is an initiative that has worked with 65,000 girls via 3,500 clubs in nearly 120 countries and all 50 United States to inspire a generation of young women to be a force for gender equality and social change. The event will be one of the duchess's first public speaking engagements since stepping away from the royal family.

The major news was announced by the group in a tweet on Tuesday. “The present is female! But don’t take our word for it. Hear Meghan Markle, The Duchess of Sussex’s advice for global girls leaders when she takes the stage at our @GirlUp Leadership Summit, happening virtually July 13-15!”

The 37-year-old royal will be joining a handful of famous speakers, presenters and guests including Michelle Obama, Jameela Jamil, Priyanka Chopra, Storm Reid, Monique Coleman and more. And did we mention the event is absolutely free?

The announcement comes just days after it was revealed that Markle (and her hubby, Prince Harry) have recently signed with the New York-based Harry Walker Agency for speaking engagements. Per the report, the couple “will be engaging in moderated discussions and keynote speeches with trade associations, corporations and community forums.”

Looks like she’s already getting started.
