All the New Delicious Details on Meghan Markle’s 38th Birthday Cake

These brand-new details about Meghan Markle’s birthday cake are making us really, really hungry.

In an exclusive interview with HELLO!, Luminary Bakery confirmed that it handcrafted a special cake for the duchess’s 38th birthday celebrations earlier this week.

Unfortunately, the mag didn’t reveal any further details about the flavor, size or design. However, the bakery’s Instagram page gives us an idea of what it might have looked like, since the east London bakeshop is famous for its simplistic designs. (Think barely-frosted cakes with delicate berries, leaves and fruits as decor.)

Markle’s birthday celebrations took place on August 4. Instead of throwing a lavish party, the royal opted for a casual get-together at Frogmore Cottage.

This isn’t the first time Markle has worked with Luminary Bakery. In fact, the Duchess of Sussex revealed in her recent issue of British Vogue that the shop holds a special place in her heart.

“The east London bakery is a trailblazing venture that not only serves up some of the best cakes in the capital, but is also on a mission to empower some of London’s most vulnerable women by lifting them out of poverty and violence,” she wrote. “The social enterprise gets disadvantaged women in London back on their feet, offering them employment opportunities and invaluable culinary skills—all in the name of damn good cakes.”

Leave it to Markle to make dessert sound inspirational.
