After months of speculation, Daniel Craig finally confirmed his return as the dangerously handsome international man of mystery for the 25th James Bond installment.
During an appearance on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert Tuesday night, Colbert pressed the Skyfall actor on whether or not he would reprise the iconic role. Craig admitted to being “cagey” about revealing any details but eventually confirmed the news with a simple, “Yes,” before adding, “I couldn’t be happier.” (Uh, same!)
This will likely be Craig's last hurrah playing the infamous Secret Service agent, but he's ready and willing to go out with a bang. “I think this is it. I just want to go out on a high note,” he told Colbert. “I can’t wait.”
While the decision was a no-brainer for MGM, Craig previously expressed reluctance about returning to the Bond franchise. During a press tour for Spectre in 2015, Craig was asked about a potential Bond comeback and broke our hearts with his seemingly definitive response. “All I want to do is move on,” he said.
Additional cast members, a director and a specific title have yet to be announced for Bond 25, but we do know Craig and his alluring British accent will return to theaters November 8, 2019.
