Remember when we said that rusty red and copper eyeshadows were trending? Well, it looks like the folks at Urban Decay were thinking the same thing because they just announced the launch of their newest Naked palette, Heat—and it’s rather, ah, fiery.
Here’s the thing: No matter where you fall on the makeup spectrum (from rarely wearing it to having your own personal Sephora at home), these palettes elicit pure excitement from all. Seriously, the second I opened up the package, I had a crowd of colleagues around me. Photos were snapped. Swatching and swiping (and some actual squealing) ensued. It was a special moment and one that very few beauty products can inspire.
So does this particular palette live up to the hype? Well, for starters, the shadows are just as creamy and pigmented as we’ve come to expect from the brand, and the new shades are truly stunning. Let me try to paint a picture for you: It’s like a perfect summer sunset. There are dreamy pinks and reds, bursts of orange and brown and then toward the end of the palette, a deep burgundy to anchor it all. The shimmers aren’t too glittery and the mattes aren’t too flat, and true to Urban Decay form, there is a shade (or five) for everyone.
Pretty soon you’ll see all of your friends rocking some version of an amber smoky eye. How soon, exactly? Well, there’s a pre-sale happening on June 12 for Urban Decay's Beauty Junkies, and the palette officially launches on the site and at Sephora on June 30. Enjoy your new favorite neutrals.
