Meghan Markle & Prince Harry Reveal Never-Before-Heard Wedding Details

Wish you could have been present during Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s wedding day? Well, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex just revealed intimate details about their nuptials that may make it feel like you witnessed their special day firsthand.

As royal aficionados know, the couple’s wedding ensembles and Prince George and Princess Charlotte’s bridal party outfits are currently on exhibit at Holyroodhouse thanks to the Royal Collection Trust. Now, according to InStyle, the exhibit includes an audio portion recorded by the couple themselves.

So what facets of the royal wedding did the 34-year-old duke and 37-year-old duchess share in the recording? For one, Markle opened up about how she and her husband tried to make the enormous wedding feel like a more modestly sized gathering with personal details.

“A great level of detail went into the planning of our wedding day,” the duchess explained. “We knew how large the scale of the event would be, so in making choices that were really personal and meaningful, it could make the whole experience feel intimate.”

Prince Harry also spoke about the Dege & Skinner–made uniform he opted to wear on the big day and explained why he picked it: “I chose the frock coat as a uniform, with permission from my grandmother, because I think it’s one of the smartest Household Cavalry uniforms,” he said. “It’s one of my favorites, and I was very fortunate to be able to wear that on the day.”

As you’ll remember, Prince George wore a matching mini version of the uniform, which Prince Harry suggested have his initials sewn into for him. Markle called it, “such a beautiful keepsake.”

The parents of newborn baby Archie also reflected on how well behaved their bridal party was. “We had ten bridesmaids and page boys under the age of 7, which everybody says is impossible to have them behaving, but they did it!” Prince Harry explained. Markle added, “It was a miracle!”

The royal exhibit will be open to the public until Sunday, October 6, at the Palace of Holyroodhouse in Edinburgh, Scotland. Looks like we better make our way to Scotland ASAP.
