Royal Photographer Chris Jackson Dishes on Kate Middleton’s Passion for Photography

Professional photographer Chris Jackson is getting candid about Kate Middleton’s passion for photography, discussing everything from her children’s birthday portraits to her latest campaign.

Jackson (who has captured several memorable photographs of the royal family, including Princess Charlotte’s famous flower sniff) appeared on a recent episode of the Royally Obsessed podcast and chatted with hosts Rachel Bowie and Roberta Fiorito about the Duchess of Cambridge.

The photographer gave his honest opinion about Middleton’s photos, including Prince Louis’s 2nd birthday portraits (pictured below). “They’re really lovely pictures. Even better to document your own children,” he said. “The duchess is obviously incredibly passionate about photography.”

Jackson also revealed details about Middleton’s brand-new community project, Hold Still, which encourages people to share photos that reflect the current coronavirus pandemic.

“I think it’s a really great idea. It’s been such an odd time for so many people, and I think art and photography have really brought people together,” Jackson added. “Photography is important at the best of times but none more so than documenting this historic period. I think it’s a great and timely initiative for her. It ties in with what she’s passionate about.”

Jackson confirmed that he already submitted his own pic, which features two women enjoying a “social distancing” get-together. “I saw these two ladies, and to me, it just summed up the world we’re living in at the moment in a very aesthetic way,” he explained.

Fingers crossed Middleton has been capturing a plethora of pics to be released in the near future.
