The New #1 Show on Netflix Has Me Confused (Again)

I'm noticing a pattern

Every once in a while, Netflix throws me for a loop with its top-rated titles. And this week is one of those times.

Once again, Raw has claimed the number one spot on Netflix’s list of most-watched shows. The series is a live version of WWE Raw, and it includes real-time wrestling broadcasts every single week.

Of course, this isn’t the first time that Raw has climbed Netflix’s charts. The series previously dethroned The Night Agent, American Primeval and The Recruit for the top spot. Raw dropped a few spots when Sweet Magnolias released season four. But now, Raw has officially risen above other noteworthy titles like Surviving Black Hawk Down (#2) and Sweet Magnolias (#3).

Surviving Black Hawk Down is an eye-opening documentary that examines the 1993 Battle of Mogadishu from the perspective of U.S. soldiers and Somalia citizens.

On the other hand, Sweet Magnolias is a feel-good romantic drama that revolves around three best friends—Maddie (Joanna García Swisher), Dana Sue (Brooke Elliott) and Helen (Heather Headley)—as they tackle issues relating to parenthood, business and friendship.

In my honest review of Sweet Magnolias season four, I wrote, “I was so distracted by the surprise breakout cast members—Ty (Carson Rowland) and Annie (Anneliese Judge), who undeniably stole the show—that I nearly missed all the clues pointing to that mind-blowing twist at the end of episode one.”

Raw, Surviving Black Hawk Down and Sweet Magnolias are three completely different shows—but only two out of three are getting added to my streaming queue
