Prince Harry & Meghan Markle Step Out for Rare Date Night

Date night is alive and well for expectant parents Prince Harry and Meghan Markle.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex stepped out for a night of song and dance on Saturday at the Aldwych Theater in London to see the new Tina—The Tina Turner Musical.

Back in November, the couple attended the Royal Variety Performance at the London Palladium and promised some of the performers that they would see Tina during its run. And being the stand-up royals they are, Harry and Markle made good on their promise. The show thanked the duke and duchess for attending the performance on Twitter.

“We were thrilled and honoured to welcome the Duke and Duchess of Sussex to the show last night,” the musical’s official Twitter account captioned a black-and-white photo of the couple from the Endeavour Fund Awards

Actress Adrienne Warren, who plays Turner in the play, also took to social media to thank the royal theatergoers.

“They said they’d come and they did! Thank you to the Duke and Duchess of Sussex. It was an honour to have the opportunity to perform for you again,” she wrote.

But this wasn’t the couple’s first date night at the Aldwych Theater. They’ve also seen Hamilton there several times (which accounts for Lin-Manuel Miranda saying Markle knows the words to the show better than him). It also helps that the theater is a mere three miles from their current Kensington Palace home.

The 37-year-old Duchess of Sussex is no stranger to the arts. Before becoming a royal, she enjoyed a long career as an actress (and theater kid) and is now patron of the National Theatre in London.

Could this be one last trip down memory lane before Baby Sussex arrives and the family of three moves to Frogmore Cottage? Let’s hope not.
