8 Celebrities with Unique Hidden Talents and Hobbies
Traditionally, a person is deemed a celebrity when she or he excels at a craft and garners notoriety within that craft. Athletes, musicians, comedians and actors reach a level of super stardom when their talents become widely known. But did you know that one of the most celebrated singers in the world is also a Connect Four ace? From a knitter nimbler than your grandma to a Rubik’s Cube master, here are eight celebs with unique hidden talents and hobbies.
1. Nick Offerman: The Whittler
Who knew Ron Swanson had a way with whittling? The Parks and Recreation star is so passionate about his woodwork hobby that he opened his own shop in Los Angeles, Offerman Woodshop. In fact, Offerman has teamed up with his Parks and Rec costar Amy Poehler to cohost a reality crafting competition titled The Handmade Project.
2. Beyoncé: The Connect Four Champ
Just when we thought Beyoncé couldn’t possibly be anymore talented, it turns out she’s quite the Connect Four connoisseur. In 2008, Bey challenged Kanye West to an official Connect Four tourney and was victorious in nine out of the ten rounds. Duh.
3. Ryan Gosling: The Music Man
Before he was the tap-dancing, jazz-loving hopeless romantic in La La Land, Gosling was a regular on The Mickey Mouse Club alongside former famous Mouseketeers Britney Spears, Christina Aguilera and Justin Timberlake.
4. Jennifer Garner: Sexy Saxamaphonist
The 13 Going on 30 star and mother of three can easily jam out to some smooth jazz with former U.S. president Bill Clinton. Check out her chops in this magical rendition of "Mary Had a Little Lamb."
5. Justin Bieber: The Rubik’s Cube Master
Don’t be fooled by Bieber’s luscious locks and bad boy tats. This guy can solve a Rubik’s Cube in less than two minutes…with his eyes closed.
6. Kristen Wiig: The Watercolor Whiz
Acting isn’t Wiig’s only natural talent. Prior to becoming the sketch comedy genius she is today, Wiig majored in art at the University of Arizona with the intention of working at a plastic surgery clinic drawing pictures of clients’ pre- and post-surgery bodies. Instead, she chose to move to L.A. and pursue an acting career. Excellent decision.
7. Ryan Reynolds: The ‘In a World’ Impersonator
Step aside, Morgan Freeman. Reynolds is here to annoy you (and wife Blake Lively) with his impeccable movie trailer impersonations.
8. Amanda Seyfried: The Modern-Day Madame Defarge
Seyfried can sing, dance, act and whip up knitted baby booties like nobody’s business.
