The Golden Globes Got 3 Nominations *So* Right This Year—and 1 So, *So* Wrong

Inevitably, when awards season rolls around each year, we're looking at snubs and snubs galore. (I still haven't forgiven the Oscars for snubbing Pam Anderson last year.) This morning, when the 2026 Golden Globe nominations were announced, there were certainly plenty of snubs, from Reese Witherspoon and Jennifer Aniston in the acting categories to Wicked: For Good in the Best Picture category.

But when I watched actors Marlon Wayans and Skye P. Marshall announce the noms earlier today, I was only listening for four names in particular. These four names would determine (for me) whether the Golden Globes got it right or the Golden Globes got it totally wrong this year. The result? They mostly got it right.

Here, three names that absolutely needed to appear on the nominations list that do, in fact, appear, and one name that somehow didn't make the cut.

1. Amy Madigan (Nominated, Best Supporting Actress, Film)

Actress Amy Madigan has been the talk of the internet since her iconic Aunt Gladys from horror movie Weapons first appeared on the scene back in August. Not only was Aunt Gladys the best Halloween costume I saw this year (after the Labubu), but I've been quite vocal about just how good her witchy performance was. Honestly, she deserves the win for that scene of her running through the neighborhood houses alone.

2. Aimee Lou Wood (Nominated, Best Supporting Actress, TV)

Wow, that White Lotus season three cast was stacked. And while I figured Parker Posey would get a nom, I was really pulling for Aimee Lou Wood. Our tragic heroine had some of the show's best one-liners (that didn't have to do with Lorazepam), and she stole every scene she was in. This nom is clearly well-deserved.

3. Tramell Tillman (Nominated, Best Supporting Actor, TV)

In a show full of bonkers twists, it's hard to stand out—but Tramell Tillman knows how to make his mark. The Severance star told PureWow earlier this year, "[Milchick is] definitely not a one-dimensional kind of guy, and because of his depth, you can do so much with him." Maybe that's why he earned this nom (and won the Emmy this past September).

4. Wunmi Mosaku (Snubbed)

Sinners was arguably the best movie of the year, and actor Michael B. Jordan deserves all the awards for his double star turn. But Wunmi Mosaku (who you might recognize from Loki) was also absolutely fabulous as one of his characters' love interests. The Golden Globes made a huge mistake in overlooking Mosaku—let's hope the Oscars rectify the situation...
