Today, the Television Academy debuted the 2025 Emmy Award nominations, and we couldn’t help but notice that several noteworthy shows and performances were left off the list. From fan-favorite shows like The Voice to certain cast members of the hit show Only Murders in the Building , keep reading for this year’s worst Emmy snubs.
The Worst 2025 Emmy Award Snubs: From 'Squid Game' to 'The Voice'
What happened?!

1. Squid Game
Despite being one of Netflix's most popular shows, Squid Game, got no love for the show's final seasons. This must come as a huge disappointment to PureWow's VP of News and Entertainment Philip Mutz who wrote, "Actress Jo Yu-ri, who plays Jun-hee, and actress Kang Ae-shim, who plays Geum-ja, are just spectacular... Give them all the Emmys. Give them all the awards.

2. The Voice
This fan-favorite singing competition show is officially out of the Emmy race this year. After last being nominated in 2024 for Outstanding, it didn’t make the cut for 2025. The category’s stacked lineup includes The Amazing Race, RuPaul’s Drag Race, Survivor, Top Chef and The Traitors.

3. Selena Gomez
After racking up an impressive 21 Emmy nominations last year, Hulu’s Only Murders in the Building saw a serious dip this time around—with just two nods for the 2025 awards. The fan-favorite comedy still scored a nomination for Outstanding Comedy Series and Martin Short landed a well-deserved nom for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Comedy Series. But wait…what about the rest of the trio?
That’s right—no nominations this year for Steve Martin or Selena Gomez.

4. Your Friends & Neighbors
Apple TV+’s dark comedy led by Jon Hamm may have been a hit with viewers but it didn’t score a single Emmy nomination—not for the show, the cast or anyone behind the scenes. Still, all hope’s not lost: the series has officially been renewed for season two. No Emmy love, but hey, a season renewal is still a solid win.

5. The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon
When it comes to my top 5 talk shows, The Tonight Show is definitely on the list—so color me surprised it didn’t snag an Emmy nom this year. With only three shows nominated in the Outstanding Variety Talk Series category, there was definitely room for one more. For 2025, the Emmy race is between The Daily Show, Jimmy Kimmel Live! and The Late Show with Stephen Colbert.
