The skies are anything but quiet this week

This week pops off like the fireworks it will end with.

Right away, Sunday kicks off a huge shift with Mars moving into Gemini. Mars is key to making decisions and taking action, and in Gemini its FOMO is so bad it compels us to do and choose everything. Of course, this creates a frenetic and chaotic energy as things go a little haywire.

In Gemini, Mars takes guidance from Mercury. Mercury will station retrograde on Monday the 29th, in the sign of Cancer, further confusing both mercurial and martial matters. Mercury’s retrograde in Cancer will focus on topics of family, home, memory, nostalgia and grief. Mars, in turn, will try to respond to these things, but while Mercury is retrograde until July 23, the path will not be straightforward.

The second thing that happens on the 29th is the full moon in the sign of Capricorn. Capricorn is the sign of putting feelings aside to fry bigger fish, but this year the moon might be torn between the effort required and the time allotted. The full moon tangles with both Neptune and Saturn, with the outcome looking confusing and frustrating. This is not the moment to rush things, even though full moons generally bring strong emotions to the forefront.

The final headline of Monday (my god, what a Monday!) is Jupiter moving into Leo. Jupiter stays in each sign for a year, so its annual shift from one to another is always significant. Jupiter is the planet of abundance, bringing an increase of opportunities and attention wherever it moves. In regal Leo, Jupiter supports leaders, bold takes, performers and creatives. It is joyful and optimistic—but can also come off as arrogant.

The week will largely be about understanding and feeling all the events from Sunday and Monday, while building towards one of the year’s biggest headlines that reaches its peak on Saturday.

Over the holiday weekend, Mars will run into Uranus in Gemini. Mars can be explosive, and Uranus is jet fuel. These two coming into contact means big surprises, sudden actions and sometimes explosive changes. The fireworks will no doubt be spectacular.

Aries (March 21 - April 19)

Your ruling planet starts the week making waves in your community, challenging ideas and instigating mischief. Mercury stations retrograde at home, reflecting on your past and how it affects you. The Capricorn full moon lights up your career space highlighting your need to both be at home and performing professionally. Meanwhile Jupiter moves into your house of play and pleasure, adding balance.

Taurus (April 20 - May 20)

Your financial life gets complicated this week and you may be reflecting on how your community and network play a role in it. A full moon in the arena of your life principles has you thinking about what keeps you grounded when things feel chaotic. Meanwhile Jupiter slips into the house of your foundation, drawing you to focus more energy at home and less on work. The Mars-Uranus contact prompts a breaking point over the weekend.

This week’s mantra: “action”

Gemini (May 21 - June 20)

Mars enters your sign on Sunday, giving a burst of energy that is likely to last all week but probably well into the summer. Your ruling planet stations retrograde in the sector of your talents, reflecting questions of where you use your gifts and if you want to monetize them. A full moon in the house of shared resources further brings up questions of finances and how the balance shakes out, while joyful Jupiter entering your house of siblings likely means you’ll be more involved in family stuff over the next year.

This week’s mantra: “run”

Cancer (June 21 - July 22)

You may feel tired this week and have inconsistent stamina. The full moon in your relationship house means you’ll be relying on your partner to carry things and take care of business. The roles you hold are up for review as Mercury goes retrograde in your sign, and finances gain a bigger significance this year as Jupiter enters your money sector until July 2027. When Mars hits Uranus on Saturday, you may be blindsided by something brewing just out of sight.

This week’s mantra: “breathe”

Leo (July 23 - August 22)

Challenges from those around you are matched with an expanding sense of self as jubilant Jupiter takes to your sign for the next year. You’re ready for new opportunities, though Mercury going retrograde in places of your inner world might make it a soft launch rather than a grand revealing.

This week’s mantra: “spin”

Virgo (August 23 - September 23)

Mars enters your career house, opening the possibility for conflict with bosses or those that hold power over you. Your ruling planet Mercury pauses and moves backwards in the visionary part of your chart, prompting you to redraw the future you’ve been aiming for. Meanwhile Jupiter enters your chart’s blind spot, meaning that hidden parts of your personality may come to the forefront over the next year. All the while a Capricorn full moon lights up your house of romance, calling for connection and joy in the midst of this necessity.

This week’s mantra: “rethink”

Libra (September 23 - October 21)

Mars entering Gemini may give rise to conflict with a mentor or overcomplicate your travel plans. Mercury going retrograde in your career sector has you consolidating all the accomplishments of the past year, while a full moon calls you to more introverted spaces for a much-needed breather. Jupiter enters the house of your audience, expanding your connection with those in your orbit. When Mars and Uranus pop off this weekend, there may be some big changes to your life goals.

This week’s mantra: “process”

Scorpio (October 22 - November 21)

Your ruling planet heads into your house of close relationships this week, creating possible conflict in the status quo. Mercury moves retrograde in your travel house meaning that you should plan for lots of wiggle room for any trips over the next month. The Capricorn full moon fills your weekly schedule right up, and Jupiter moves into your career house for the next year. Everything will pay off in proportion to the effort you put in.

This week’s mantra: “focus”

Sagittarius (November 22 - December 21)

Your relationships may get combative this week, in fact, most things are likely to get louder. The Capricorn full moon highlights your finances, Jupiter dreams up big travel goals, and Mercury contemplates debts. The Mars-Uranus entanglement is likely to set off any tensions in your relationships, so sweep under your rug or what’s there might come for you.

This week’s mantra: “challenge”

Capricorn (December 22 - January 19)

This week begins a very busy part of the year for you, where there’s lots of work to do on multiple fronts. Mars enters your house of labor as Mercury moves retrograde in your house of partnerships, asking for effort both personal and professional. The full moon in your sign asks you to perform at your best and Jupiter in Leo offers the financial support for your ventures. Don’t push yourself too hard physically as this weekend’s Mars-Uranus contact can sometimes mean injury.

This week’s mantra: “full throttle”

Aquarius (January 20 - February 18)

Mars moving into the house of children means more effort is likely to be demanded from that area of life. Mercury moving retrograde is likely to see the effects in your daily schedule and how you balance the demands of work, play and self-care. A full moon in your 12th house may have you feeling totally spent with a need to retreat, while Jupiter entering your partnership house offers all the support. Mars and Uranus may prompt a breakthrough on what you can handle, just try to stay present.

This week’s mantra: “chaotic”

Cheeky illustration of a gender-fluid white person with short-cropped orange hair. They're wearing a light blue halter top as two bright pink koi fish circle their head.

Pisces (February 19 - March 20)

Mars is ready to break the mold of your origins and shake things up in your home and family story. Mercury is hesitant due to how it will affect the kids and your ability to access joy and creativity. A full moon in the house of your supporters has you wisely reaching out for the support of your community while your ruling planet Jupiter bounces into Leo, optimizing your daily life. It’s a week of big shifts, but they’ve all been brewing for a while.

This week’s mantra: “risk it”
