You’re just about to leave for dinner when you notice: Your smartphone battery has drained to practically nothing. You’ve got 17 minutes. Before you panic, try this time-saving trick.
What you need: Your smartphone charger.
What you do: Before you plug your phone into an outlet to charge, go into the settings and toggle the Airplane Mode switch from off to on. Watch in amazement as your device gets juiced at warp speed.
Why this works: Airplane mode kills your device’s connection to the Internet. This means your battery won’t have to compete with automatic app updates, texts and pop-up notifications while it attempts to charge.
So? Hold your calls. For 17 minutes, you’ll be signing off.
