Royal News Roundup: Will Reunites with Harry, Meghan Makes a Birth Certificate Tweak & More

Here, all the royal news you need to know for the week of July 1, 2021.

Last week, Prince Harry arrived in London ahead of Princess Diana’s statue unveiling. The Duke of Sussex, 36, was spotted leaving Heathrow Airport in a van before heading to Frogmore Cottage (his former U.K. home) where he remained for five days with his cousin, Princess Eugenie, and her family: husband Jack Brooksbank and son August.

Zara Tindall knows how difficult it can be naming a child. In fact, in the process of naming her second daughter, Lena, she nearly picked initials that would've made Steven Spielberg proud. In an old interview from The Telegraph, Tindall revealed the struggle she had in naming her daughter. “I liked the name Elena, but I didn’t want her initials to be ‘E.T.’ so she’s Lena,” Tindall explained.

  • We also learned recently that the names that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex used on Lili's birth certificate are different from what they wrote on Archie's. Whereas before, Markle listed herself as “Rachel Meghan Her Royal Highness the Duchess of Sussex,” the new birth certificate required the duchess to use her maiden name. She listed herself solely as “Rachel Meghan Markle.”
  • Over the weekend, the Duke of Cambridge posted a rare message on social media, where he shared his thoughts over a recent rugby development. He wrote, “Gutted for @AlunWynJones that he won’t be able to captain the Lions due to an injury. Wishing him a speedy recovery and best of luck to the rest of the Lions team as they set off for South Africa. We are all behind you!”

  • Shortly after Prince Harry’s arrival across the pond, Queen Elizabeth was seen driving herself over to Frogmore. However, no word on if they actually spent time together face-to-face.

  • Queen Elizabeth had a very important family member by her side during her latest trip to Scotland: her grandson, Prince William. On Monday, the 95-year-old monarch and the Duke of Cambridge paid a visit to the Irn Bru, an iconic soda maker's factory in Cumbernauld. Following the special visit, Elizabeth attended the traditional Ceremony of the Keys at the Palace of Holyroodhouse, where she was given the keys to the city.
