If you have ever wondered what life looks like behind palace doors, one of the most relatable details might just be the royal family’s dogs. From wagging tails to constant companionship, pups have quietly become a beloved part of royal home life.

And while their schedules are packed with official duties and public appearances, the royals still make time for their four-legged family members. So, let’s take a closer look at the dogs currently keeping members of the royal family company.

1. Prince William & Kate Middleton

Prince William and Kate Middleton are the proud dog parents of two cocker spaniels, Orla and Otto. Orla joined the family back in 2020, and her pup Otto arrived in 2025.

In February 2026, during a royal outing, Princess Catherine confirmed rumors that the Wales household gained a puppy.

“So we’ve got a little puppy, he’s only 8 months, and Orla’s 5,” she shared, according to Hello!.

2. King Charles & Queen Camilla

King Charles and Queen Camilla are officially a three-dog household. Their pups include Bluebell, a rescue Jack Russell Terrier; Snuff, a Lagotto Romagnolo (an Italian truffle-hunting breed); and Moley, a rescue who has been described as a little bit of everything mix.

Moley is also the newest addition to the royal dog lineup. Buckingham Palace announced her arrival back in May 2025 with a sweet photo of Queen Camilla holding the pup in her lap.

“Meet mischievous Moley, The Queen’s new much-loved canine companion who was recently adopted from @Battersea where Her Majesty is Patron,” the post read.

3. Princess Anne

Princess Anne has long been known for her deep, lifelong affection for English Bull Terriers and horses.

Over the years, she has raised multiple generations of English Bull Terriers and, as a lifelong equestrian and former Olympian, keeps a number of horses at her country estate. Her rural property also doubles as a working farm, home to sheep, pigs, and cattle, per EBSCO.

4. Prince Harry & Meghan Markle

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have fully leaned into the rescue pet life. The couple share two rescue dogs: a black Labrador named Pula and a beagle named Mamma Mia.

And their animal family does not stop there. At their California home, they also keep a small coop of rescued chickens, affectionately dubbed “Archie’s Chick Inn.”
