‘Live’ Almost Started Without Kelly Ripa & Ryan Seacrest Today

In the behind-the-scenes clip, Ripa and Seacrest are walking through a backstage hallway as they nonchalantly chat about their weekend. In the background, a producer is counting down, “4, 3, 2, 1,” but the co-hosts are too busy with their conversation to notice.

“I mean, literally,” Seacrest says. To which Ripa responds, “No, I know.”

We have no idea what they’re actually talking about, because right when Ripa turns to the camera to explain, she’s interrupted by the producer, saying, “We’re on the air.”

Ripa still doesn’t get the memo—that is, until Seacrest repeats, “We’re on the air, apparently.”

Of course, there’s a good chance their tardiness won’t be addressed on today’s episode of Live, since there’s usually a small intro before the cameras start rolling. Still, we can’t help but wonder what the conversation was about, since it caused such a distraction.

Perhaps they were talking about Mark Consuelos’s highly anticipated return from Vancouver?
