Kelly Ripa's Husband Mark Was Co-Host of ‘Live’ Today—But Fans Have Questions

Kelly Ripa and Mark Consuelos have had a pretty eventful couple of days. Just hours after they sent their youngest child to his senior prom, the duo co-hosted Live with Kelly and Ryan together. Yup—Mark Consuelos is back on the Live set.

On Wednesday, the producers of the hit morning show shared their daily behind-the-scenes clip on the official Instagram account. However, instead of the usual footage featuring Ripa and Ryan Seacrest dancing their way to their seats on stage, the 50-year-old television personality was joined by her husband. “We’re so excited to have @instasuelos in the studio after soooo long!” the post’s caption read.

In the video we see Ripa and Consuelos standing off to the side of the stage. “This is my husband, Mark,” Ripa said as she introduced him to announcer Deja Vu to which he responded, “Hi Deja!”

It’s been a long time since Consuelos sat in for Ryan Seacrest (no word on why he’s absent from today’s installment). In fact, the last time we saw him on the set was back in December when he came on as a guest.

However, it seems like fans were upset with the fact that the married couple was adhering to the strict COVID-19 guidelines and precautions by sitting six feet apart from one another. One user commented on the IG post, “Why are they socially distanced? They are married after all!” while another added, “They’re married ... I think they could sit together.” One person said what everyone was thinking: “Move your chairs together!!!!”

While we understand the fans' concern, it is possible that moving the set back to normal might have just been too much work for one day.

We’re just happy to see these two co-hosting together again, no matter how far apart they sit.
