This year, the BAFTAs dress code called for a royal re-wear and naturally, Kate Middleton didn’t disappoint.

The 2020 British Academy of Film and Television Arts Film Awards, which were held at London’s Royal Albert Hall, requested that guests rock an outfit they’ve worn in the past in the interest of sustainability. So, the 38-year-old Duchess Of Cambridge dusted off an Alexander McQueen stunner she previously wore in 2012 during her and Prince William’s tour of Singapore, Malaysia and the Solomon Islands. Needless to say, she looked marvelous.

The ornate crème chiffon McQueen frock featured a sweetheart neckline embellished with a gold border. The gold accents continued throughout the A-line dress and matched her gold glittered Jimmy Choo Rommy pumps ($675) and clutch. Her exact purse isn’t available, but the Edie Parker Jean solid clutch ($895) or Santi sequin clutch ($148) are both similar.

This go-around Middleton also accessorized her look with an ornate updo and Van Cleef and Arpels baubles from the Magic Alhambra Collection (the same collection Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall, has worn on multiple occasions). Taking a cue from her step-mother-in-law, the duchess donned the yellow-gold and mother of pearl Magic Alhambra earrings ($6,200) and the tiered Magic Alhambra necklace ($8,950). She also threw in the large citrine ring Prince William purportedly gave her following the birth of their third child, Prince Louis, in 2018. (P.S.: We found a similar one for $244, aka a steal.)

Although it’s been eight years since Middleton last wore the McQueen creation in Malaysia, she still looked just as radiant.

While on royal tour in 2012, she also paired the ensemble with a gold glittery clutch and metallic shoes, although she went for an open-toed platform instead of pumps. She said no thanks to a necklace and opted for citrine-looking drop earrings instead.

Either way you swing it, the Duchess of Cambridge definitely selected the right dress for the occasion.
