We may be in the midst of a sweltering heat wave, but fall is actually not too far away. And at Walt Disney World, it’s even closer. In fact, Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party kicks off on August 11 and runs through November 1. The frighteningly fun event includes plenty of entertainment around the park, but the devilishly delicious foods, drinks and desserts are no doubt the highlight. This year, Walt Disney World’s culinary teams have conjured up 30 specialty treats for the occasion, and nearly all of them are brand new. Read on for details (and pics!) of the treats we can’t wait to sink our fangs into.
Disney Just Revealed Its Halloween Treats for 2023 (and They Look Scary Delicious)
1. Apple Fritter Milkshake (top left)
- Where: Auntie Gravity’s Galactic Goodies
This salted caramel milkshake is topped with green apple whipped cream for a spooky seasonal touch. But the real pièce de résistance is the whole apple fritter on the rim of the glass.
2. MMMummy Treat (top right)
- Where: Cheshire Café
Like Nutella? (Of course you do.) Then you’ll savor every crumb of this flaky pastry, stuffed with chocolate-hazelnut filling and topped with white icing stripes and sugar eyes.
3. Terrifyin’ Twice-Spiced Chicken Sandwich (top left)
- Where: Cosmic Ray’s Starlight Café
Swicy (that’s sweet and spicy) foods are still all the rage. Buckle up for spicy fried chicken breast doused in hot honey and topped with pepper jack cheese, jalapeño poppers and bacon.
4. Zombie Fingers (bottom left)
- Where: Cosmic Ray’s Starlight Café
How cute (er, creepy?) are these? Think almond cookie fingers paired with key lime pie white chocolate ganache, salted caramel crisp pearls and sugar eyes.
5. Pain and Panic Loaded Tots (center)
- Where: The Friar’s Nook
Remember Pain and Panic from Hercules? They’re the namesake for these loaded spuds. The potatoes are topped with sweet-and-spicy onion relish, sriracha mustard and crumbled bratwurst for good measure.
6. Tombstone Tart
- Where: Golden Oak Outpost
We wouldn’t mind starting Halloween morning with one of these festive handhelds. The flaky pastry tart is filled with strawberry-jalapeño jam and topped with sprinkles and sugar spiders.
7. Minnie-Shaped Pumpkin Cheesecake
- Where: Main Street Bakery
Because it wouldn’t be fall without a slew of pumpkin confections at your disposal. This new treat stars pumpkin cheesecake and pumpkin coffee mousse, topped with a white chocolate candy corn bow.
8. Candy Corn Milkshake (right)
- Where: Pecos Bill Tall Tale Inn & Café
For all of you Halloween stans who don’t want to say goodbye to summer just yet, there’s this sipper, made with sweet corn soft-serve. It’s finished with whipped cream and—wait for it—sweet potato cornbread nuggets.
9. Cinnamon Funnel Cake (bottom right)
- Where: Sleepy Hollow
We brace our taste buds annually for Disney’s newest funnel cakes, and we can’t wait to give this one a spin. The doughy treat is topped with pumpkin ice cream, then adorned with pumpkin spice caramel and butterscotch chips.
11. Not-So-Poison Apple Churro (top left)
- Where: Churro Cart near Cinderella Castle
Just as iconic as the funnel cakes are the churros, and this year’s addition may be the tastiest one yet. We’re talking crispy fried dough rolled in green apple sugar, topped with Snickers bar pieces and drizzled with caramel.
12. Skull Brownie (bottom right)
- Where: Outdoor Vending Cart near The Haunted Mansion
In case this list doesn’t have enough sweet-and-spicy treats for your taste, try this Mexican-spiced chocolate brownie on for size. It’s packed with dulce de leche filling and decorated with sugar eyes.
