Serena Williams is no stranger to trying daring looks (hello, cutout dress) and experimenting with new styles. But there's one outfit I can't stop thinking about that she shared earlier this month.
A couple of weeks ago, she posted a two-piece set on her Instagram and it was the unique blazer that caught my eye. The 44-year-old posed for the camera in a maroon set, featuring a mini skirt, white button down shirt, nude heels and a blazer...with a hood.
Yup, I've never seen anything like it before, and of course, only Williams made it look super fashionable. She captioned the post, "Business casual, or casual business?"
Her comment section went wild, with celebs like Kerry Washington weighing in, writing, "Either way [fire emoji]." Other fans chimed in and praised her look. One commenter shared, "The suit has a hood. I'm intrigued."
Williams wore it to an event in Asturias, Spain on October 23. It was just a day before she was honored with the Princess of Asturias Award for Sports due to her longstanding contributions to tennis. In the image above, you can see the former athlete speaking with young folks.
Now, I did some snooping and realized the WYN founder is a big fan of matching sets *and* the brownish red hue. In October, she wore a similar look to ATHLOS NYC25, a track and field event founded by her husband Alexis Ohanian.
At the event, she stunned in a leather maroon jacket and skirt combo, along with a white button down, dainty necklace and suede pointy-toe heels. (Also, Ohanian matching with her is probably the cutest thing you'll see today.)
Safe to say Williams is making the case for a Maroon Winter and I'm here for it.
