‘Virgin River’ Season 4 Review: Netflix Has Done It Again

First things first, let’s start with the plot, which picks up right where the previous season ends: Mel (Alexandra Breckenridge) is pregnant, but she doesn’t know if Jack (Martin Henderson) or her ex, Mark (Daniel Gillies), is the father. Preacher (Colin Lawrence) is still looking for Christopher (Chase Petriw), who is kidnapped by Vince (Steve Bacic) in the season three finale.

Ricky (Grayson Gurnsey) is preparing to leave for the Marines, even though he still has feelings for Lizzie (Sarah Dugdale). Doc (Tim Matheson) is taking care of Hope (Annette O’Toole) after her car accident and adjusting to life with a new doctor, Cameron (Mark Ghanimé), at the clinic. Plus, he must address his long-lost grandson, Denny (Kai Bradbury), who suddenly wants to connect.

If you enjoyed the first three seasons, then there’s no doubt you’ll love Virgin River season 4. The new installment exceeds expectations in more ways than one and offers a feel-good vibe that’s reminiscent of a soap opera.

Perhaps the biggest reason it’s so successful is because the story line is over-the-top without feeling too cheesy. And since almost every episode ends with a cliffhanger, it’s seriously addictive television. So, don’t turn it on unless you plan to binge-watch multiple installments in a row. You’ve been warned.

It’s important to note that the first few episodes of Virgin River season 4 don’t answer very many questions about Mel’s baby, Christopher’s whereabouts, etc. However, the new season teases just enough drama to keep viewers wanting more. (And yes, you’ll get your answers eventually.)
