It looks like someone is following in their mother’s footsteps (or better yet tennis shoes).
Serena Williams spent the weekend teaching her mini-me daughter, Alexis Olympia, all about her go-to sport—and the matching purple outfits are enough to make this the doubles pairing we didn’t know we needed.
Williams shared a slideshow of the new pics and video on Instagram. In each photo, Olympia mimics her mom’s stances with a game face that could only have been passed on by the legend herself. Aside from the snapshots, the gallery features a video of the 2-year-old high-fiving her mom and throwing in the towel (or in this in case her racket), signaling she’s done for the day.
Honestly, we don’t think the IG post needed any captioning and Williams agreed, letting her 12.5 million followers caption this moment themselves. Celebs like Zendaya, Gabrielle Union and even her sister Venus Williams weighed in with messages of support.
This isn’t the first time the two had fun twinning together. A few weeks ago, the 23-time Grand Slam champion and her daughter wore matching ball gowns and performed. Back in May, she also shared a video of Olympia copying her skincare routine and, you guessed it, wearing matching PJs for the occasion. We’re sensing a copycat theme with the Williams-Ohanian fam.
While it probably was just a fun day at the tennis court, we won’t be surprised if we see Olympia in a match of her own in the future.
