Serena Williams Has a Dance-Off in New Instagram Video (& We're Loving Her Baton Twirling)

We may know Serena Williams for her incredible moves on the tennis court, but it looks like she's ready whenever someone calls for a dance-off, too.

The 40-year-old athlete shared a new video to her Instagram account, where she's seen engaging in a battle of moves with Hampton University Marching Force twirler Simeon “Simi” Guyton. She captioned the video, “A little dance off is never a bad idea. @s._imi agrees.”

In the video, Guyton pulls out some impressive moves, throwing the baton high in the air and including some spins and bends as well. However, while Williams doesn't do quite the same tricks, she makes impressive catches and even bends down and dances, which couldn't have been easy in the towering high heels and black minidress she was sporting.

Williams's competitor was clearly dazzled by getting the chance to dance against the tennis champ, and he commented on her post, saying, “It was an absolute pleasure to twirl with you!”

Fellow celebs also loved the video, like Diane Keaton, who left a series of hand-clapping emojis in the comments. Ciara (whose song “Level Up” plays the background of the clip) said, “Get it.” Meanwhile, Angelica Ross added, “Girl the SHOES.”

This isn't the first time we've seen Williams dance. A couple of years ago, the athlete made a surprise appearance on Lip Sync Battle, where she joined Finery founder Brooklyn Decker for a rendition of Beyoncé’s “Sorry.” In the performance, Williams stood on a bus in a black leotard and danced along to the hit song (which was fitting, given that she had previously appeared in the song's music video).
