Meghan & Harry Share Black-and-White Throwback Pic of Queen Elizabeth and Prince Philip for Their Anniversary

Big congratulations are in order! Queen Elizabeth and Prince Philip are celebrating 72 years of marriage, and the Duke and Duchess of Sussex are honoring the occasion in the best way—with a throwback photo.

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry chose a black-and-white photo of Harry's grandparents to post on their official Instagram account.  In the pic, we see Queen Elizabeth riding in an open air carriage with her hubby, and even greeting the crowds with her signature wave.

“Happy anniversary to Her Majesty The Queen and The Duke of Edinburgh! On this day, seventy-two years ago, they were married at Westminster Abbey,” they captioned the post. “Many congratulations!”

Meghan and Harry weren’t the only members of the royal family to celebrate on social media. The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, aka Prince William and Kate Middleton, also shared an old photograph of the couple.

Although it is Queen Elizabeth and Prince Philip’s anniversary, the duo will be spending it apart. Philip, 98, is currently at Sandringham, Norfolk, while her Majesty is in London for a week of royal engagements.

This isn’t uncommon. Last year the royal couple also spent their special day in different locations. The monarch made a solo appearance at the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors in London and while we aren’t positive where Phillip was, we’re sure it was important.

Happy anniversary, you guys! We hope you get to celebrate it together soon.
