Meghan Markle just recorded a special audio message for a group of volunteers, and it sounds like she’s due for a trip across the pond.

Over the weekend, the Duchess of Sussex, 38, paid tribute to London’s Hubb Community Kitchen in honor of the third anniversary of the Grenfell Tower fire.

The Hubb Community Kitchen holds a special place in Markle’s heart. (She co-authored a cookbook with members of the communal kitchen back in 2018.) Since she’s currently living in Los Angeles, the royal sent an inspiring video message thanking the volunteers.

“I think back to when I met all of you and how you had all come together in the wake of what you experienced in your community,” Markle said, according to Evening Standard. “And now what you have done is such an inspiration, you continue to give back, you continue to put love in action. And that’s really what Hubb is all about.”

Markle also referenced Prince Harry, adding, “I’m so proud of you, so is Harry, and we are sending so much love to you from across the pond and thinking of you today, as I’m sure it’s a difficult day, but also one where you can look at how much you’ve accomplished in the past three years, and how you continue to give back and be an example for all of those around you.”

The Grenfell Tower fire took place in June 2017, when a fire broke out in a highly populated apartment complex, claiming 72 lives. Since then, survivors have relied on the Hubb Community Kitchen, which offers complementary meals to the neighborhood.

Sending virtual hugs to the entire Grenfell community.
