If you recall, the cast and crew started filming in February. Henderson confirmed the news with a BTS post and said, "Aaaaaannnnnnndddddd……we’re back! Back at it in Vancouver commencing shooting for season 6 of #virginriver. That’s right folks, we are at it again! Feels so good to be back in Jack’s boots making more what we hope to be riveting, romantic and racy drama for y’all."
While chatting with Netflix's Tudum in April, showrunner Patrick Sean Smith teased what fans can expect. He said, “Mel and Jack will advance on their path to parenthood while also turning Lilly’s farm into their ultimate dream home.”
He added, “Babies and wedding bells are never off the table on Virgin River.”
Season six will take place a few months after the holiday episodes in season five, and Henderson and Breckenridge will be joined by Tim Matheson, Annette O’Toole, Colin Lawrence, Benjamin Hollingsworth, Zibby Allen, Sarah Dugdale, Marco Grazzini, Mark Ghanimé, Kai Bradbury and Kandyse McClure. A release date has yet to be announced, but Netflix did confirm that new episodes would premiere later this year.
