Mandy Moore's Baby and Princess Eugenie's Newborn Share *This* Very Special Connection

We’ve had a ton of exciting baby news over the last few weeks—Meghan Markle’s pregnancy announcement, for example. However, with all of the birth and pregnancy hubbub, we almost missed this special connection between Mandy Moore’s newborn and Prince Eugenie's new baby. Allow us to explain.

Over the weekend, the Princess of York (after a week of anticipation) finally revealed the name of her and Jack Brooksbank’s first child together: August Philip Hawke Brooksbank. The 30-year-old new mother announced the name by sharing a slideshow on Instagram featuring her family of three.

The royal captioned the post, “We wanted to introduce you to August Philip Hawke Brooksbank,” followed by three blue heart emojis.

So, today when we learned the name of Moore’s first child, August Harrison Goldsmith, who she recently welcomed with her husband, Taylor Goldsmith, it immediately rang a bell. The 36-year-old actress shared the exciting news in an Instagram post on Tuesday, featuring a picture of her son in a blue onesie alongside a heartfelt caption.

“Gus is here,” Moore wrote alongside the image, slyly revealing the newborn’s nickname. “Our sweet boy, August Harrison Goldsmith. He was punctual and arrived right on his due date, much to the delight of his parents. We were prepared to fall in love in all sorts of brand new ways, but it goes beyond anything we could have ever imagined.” She simply signed the post, “M + T.”

Two baby Augusts in one month?! We’re feeling a special friendship coming on between these two.
