We already know that Jennifer Lopez enlisted her fiancé, Alex Rodriguez, to visit a strip club with her while preparing for Hustlers, but this brand-new behind-the-scenes secret proves that the 50-year-old singer was fully committed to her role as a stripper named Ramona.
In a recent interview with Harper’s Bazaar, dancer and choreographer Johanna Sapakie discussed what it was like training the cast on acrobatics and pole dancing. Although preparation began two and half months before they started filming, this was no easy task for J.Lo, since she was touring at the time.
Still, Sapakie’s goal was to arrange two to three hour-long sessions per week. So, Lopez went above and beyond to ensure she could practice at her homes in New York, Los Angeles and Miami. This included installing portable stripper poles in all three of her residences, and damn, talk about commitment.
“That was the point of making sure she had a pole in any city she was in,” Sapakie said. “And I would go to her wherever she was at, so that within for a crazy busy schedule, we would lock out a pole training.”
