starbucks holiday drink announcement: starbucks holiday drinks and pastries for 2025, side by side
Starbucks

Starbucks released its fall menu in August, highlighted by the ever-popular pumpkin spice latte. Now that fans have gotten their fill of apple- and pecan-infused sugar, spice and everything nice, the coffee chain has announced its 2025 holiday menu, which hits stores on November 6. The lineup includes returning favorites and one discontinued drink that hasn’t been seen in years.

I’m a Former Starbucks Barista, and You *Need* to Try This Pumpkin Spice Latte Recipe at Home

The holiday drink menu consists of six beverages that boast all the festive flair you’ve missed since 2024. It includes five returning drinks from last year and one that hasn’t been seen since 2021. Here are the deets:

  • Eggnog Latte (new): This one won’t be back on November 6, but rather later in the season. Ingredients haven’t been announced yet, but from what I remember of my barista days, it’s eggnog, espresso and your choice of milk, steamed to perfection. (You could have it iced instead, of course, but I recommend it warm for all the winter vibes.) It’s been discontinued for years, so I’m curious how it’ll perform this time around.
  • Peppermint Mocha: Decadent mocha sauce, cooling peppermint syrup, espresso and steamed milk is a union that never gets old. It’s arguably the richest (and sweetest) option on the menu, but if you’re all about chocolate, look no further.
  • Caramel Brulée Latte: The buttery caramel brulée sauce has notes of torched sugar, and the crunchy topping drives that notion home. It has a spiced, smoky nuance to it that plays off the bold espresso just right.
  • Iced Sugar Cookie Latte: Sugar cookie-flavored syrup and blonde espresso make for a festive sipper that’s impeccably balanced. Last year, the standard called for almond milk, but 2025's version is made with dairy. However, you can substitute any kind of milk you’d prefer. Just don’t skip the red and green cookie sprinkles.
  • Iced Gingerbread Chai: Warm-spiced chai concentrate, which has a caffeinated black tea base, meets creamy milk (last year's came with oat milk, but this version defaults to dairy; modify how you see fit) for a seasonal spin on a classic. It has all the notes of your favorite fall desserts.
  • Chestnut Praline Latte: Joining the ranks later this winter, this mix of steamed milk, espresso and chestnut praline syrup is my favorite of the lot. It’s nutty, cozy and caramel-y without being cloying.

If you prefer making coffee at home, keep an eye out for Starbucks Thanksgiving Blend, Christmas Blend, Christmas Blonde Roast and Holiday Blend beans next time you’re in the store.

As for seasonal sweet treats, the Starbucks holiday pastries include three desserts from last year, as well as two new confections I can’t wait to try:

  • Polar Bear Cake Pop (new): Starbucks hasn't confirmed the ingredients of this treat yet, but if it ends up being like last year's winter cake pop, I'm guessing the interior will be tender vanilla cake mixed with buttercream frosting. I'm also speculating that it'll be dipped in white chocolatey icing and decorated with a polar bear design, just for funsies.
  • Cinnamon Pull-Apart Bread (new): Details on this novel treat aren’t out yet, but it looks like a muffin-shaped monkey bread, likely laced with cinnamon, brown sugar and other warm spices.
  • Snowman Cookie: It doesn’t get simpler than a buttery shortbread snowman cookie with white chocolatey topping. If you have a picky kid in tow on your next coffee run, you know what to get them.
  • Cranberry Bliss Bar: It’s the most iconic Starbucks holiday food for good reason. The blondie cake, studded with dried cranberries, is topped with cream cheese icing for contrasting tang, along with sweet-and-sour orange zest and more dried cranberries.
  • Sugar Plum Cheese Danish: I quite enjoyed this pick last year when it first launched. Think a flaky, croissant-like base, teeming with cream cheese filling and topped with spiced sugar plum spread.

I know we’re weeks away from Halloween…but is it too early to take my ugly sweater out of storage?
