Apparently, we've all been doing our beachside outfits completely wrong.
Serena Williams showed us how it's really done on her Instagram this weekend, where she posed in a dazzling black dress by the water. Looking like a character straight out of The Little Mermaid, the tennis pro captioned the photos with a series of ocean wave emojis.
In the slideshow, the 39-year-old lays on a dock in a black tulle gown with multicolored gems adorning the bodice. The gems slowly separate and disappear as they travel from the waistline down the skirt, appearing like a cluster of stars in a night sky. In the three photos, Williams looks over her shoulder while showing off the flowing design.
While Williams didn't reveal the designer of her stunning gown, she tagged Audemars Piguet, the manufacturer of her elegant silver watch. Meanwhile, the athlete used her go-to team in Miami for the rest of her styling, including the Angela Meadows Salon for her hair and makeup artist Natasha Gross. The photos were taken by Ronald Wayne.
And we weren't the only ones who couldn't get over this incredible look. Fellow professional tennis player and pal Caroline Wozniacki said, "Wow!!! So pretty!!! Love this dress too." Cat Gasol jokingly added, "My usual beach attire too. Looking GORG!!!!!" Meanwhile, others told Williams she looked like a mermaid and a prom queen.
Compared to Serena Williams's fashion game, the rest of us are just poor unfortunate souls.
