The One Beauty Rule That Meghan Markle *Always* Follows

She’s a dedicated humanitarian, outspoken animal lover and total style icon—it’s no wonder that Meghan Markle is your number one Google search. Yet another reason to love the future royal? Her remarkably low-key approach to makeup.

Speaking to Refinery29, Markle's former hairstylist and makeup artist Lydia F. Sellers revealed the one makeup rule the former Suits actor insisted upon when they worked together on the hit show.

“Every time I'd do her makeup, she'd say, ‘Can we just make sure my freckles are peeking through? I don't want a ton of foundation,’” Sellers explained.

“It was more about the amount of product that went on her skin and keeping it really fresh and dewy, rather than caking it on,” she continued.

To achieve Markle’s glowing complexion, Sellers applied ultra-lightweight Armani Luminous Silk Foundation with a Beautyblender “because it's really easy to sheer out.” (Just remember to bounce—not sweep—the sponge for best results.)

Markle herself has previously spoken about showing off her beautiful freckles. In an interview with Allure magazine in 2017, she revealed that her pet peeve is when her skin tone is changed in a photo and her freckles are airbrushed out. “For all my freckle-faced friends out there, I will share with you something my dad told me when I was younger: ‘A face without freckles is a night without stars,’ ” she said.

Spoken like true royalty. Never change, Meghan.
