A week for snacks, sweatpants and emotional resilience

Not going to lie, I doubt this week will be fun. Sometimes the astrology is joyous, sometimes it is high drama…and sometimes it’s kind of a drag. I say this not to create a self-fulfilling prophecy or to predict doom, but so that you can prepare for the weather by bringing a psychological raincoat and filling your pockets with some extra snacks. Also, plan evenings to cozy-maxx and lean into comfort where you find it. It’s not filled with fun, but you can plan for that, set your expectations and manage challenges as they arise. Bonus points if you can help others along the way.

Nearly every day this week has its own alignments, so stay nimble.

On Sunday, September 13th, Mercury will make contact with Uranus. This is a brainy, buzzing, idea-filled inspiration day, and mental overwhelm is likely. Luckily, Uranus provides a lot of energy, but if it lights up your anxiety circuit rather than your hobbies, it could be a bit challenging. Sunday night, the Moon enters Scorpio.

Monday the 14th has a get-down-to-business vibe, with the Sun in a harmonious aspect to Mars as they tackle to-do items left and right. But the broody Scorpio Moon activates the Venus-Pluto conflict, so we’re having to manage tumultuous feelings while we’re trying to be productive.

On Tuesday morning, the exact battle between the heart and the trigger hits. Venus in Scorpio loses her cool when relationship or money issues feel completely overwhelming. This is one of the hardest pieces of astrology this month and the day you and others will need the most grace. The evening sees Neptune dissolving the strength of Pluto, and the best we can do is choose “letting it go” over despair. Tuesday is rough, but make it through and the hardest part is over.

On Wednesday morning, the Moon blessedly shifts into optimistic Sagittarius, and some of the heaviness lifts. Plan a light activity for Wednesday or Thursday night; they’re the best of the week.

Friday has a bit of a deadlock quality as Mercury faces off with Saturn. This is a frustrating transit of being under a deadline and the printer not working. The stress is palpable and tempers are short. As much as you can lock in and try to push forward, even if it’s at a slower pace, the better. The way out is through.

The Moon enters serious Capricorn on Friday night and remains there throughout the weekend, finishing up any work not completed on Friday. This is a weekend for taking care of end-of-summer chores, cleaning up the garden for fall, and staying busy and productive.

It’s a lot of weight to carry through the week and a lot to get done. Pat yourself on the back and know that next week is a lot lighter. You’re strong and you’ve got this.

Aries (March 21 - April 19)

You might be pulled toward deeper thoughts and moods that have you reflecting on existential themes earlier in the week, with just enough energy to keep your surface life humming along. Midweek is a great time to indulge in daydreaming about your next travel plans and where you need to go next. Relationships may hit an impasse on Friday where you can’t find a compromise that works for both of you.

This week’s mantra: “move”

Cheeky illustration of a young non-binary person petting a bull.

Taurus (April 20 - May 20)

You’re very tuned in to relationship stuff this week as both the Moon and Venus try to balance getting and giving love while standing up for your principles on the world’s stage. It’s hard to feel exposed while also needing privacy in emotionally close spaces. Friday may bring up frustration and delays around getting all your work done, and by the weekend, you want to check out.

This week’s mantra: “devoted”

Cheeky illustration of identical twins with long dark hair and a statement earrings back-to-back, smirking at each other.

Gemini (May 21 - June 20)

The Moon moves from your chore sector early in the week and deep into your relationship houses throughout. You’re being asked to help and tend to others in a more effortful way. Your focus on other people gets in the way on Friday when you need to balance self-expression with creating the art that’s been commissioned.

This week’s mantra: “juggling”

Cancer (June 21 - July 22)

You’re quite motivated as the week begins, navigating complicated schedules and managing all the things. Venus trips over the demands of a partner and things may get a little heated, but try to focus on the person you want to be, so you’re not swamped by emotions in the present. By Friday, you’re pulled in two directions at once, wanting to devote more time to the home front but also needing to meet work deadlines. Take all the help you can get.

This week’s mantra: “reliable”

Cheeky illustration of a woman of Asian-descent wearing a sheer coral top with her hair half-up in pigtail puns, the rest down. She is hugging a lion, who is smirking.

Leo (July 23 - August 22)

The finer points of the upcoming Venus retrograde will make themselves known earlier in the week, when Venus and Pluto tangle up relationship and family issues. Everything they exhume is ripe to be processed so that your fear doesn’t determine your life. Midweek, you find the will to express yourself creatively, but by Friday, you’re annoyed by the lack of efficacy in your attempts to communicate.

This week’s mantra: “patterns”

Cheeky illustration with a light blue background of a woman wearing a coral shirt coyly poking out from behind her hands.

Virgo (August 23 - September 23)

The bulk of the labor this week falls in the number of chores and the puzzle of finances. You begin the week with a full load but should be able to push through fairly effectively, though your desire to get to everything may come up against limitations in your physical capacity on Tuesday. If you can depend on support from other people, this is not the week for pride. Your ruling planet facing down Saturn on Thursday might want to be fully autonomous but is blocked by obligations.

This week’s mantra: “make it work”

Libra (September 23 - October 21)

Your superpower this week is that Mercury is in your sign. You communicate powerfully, outlining big ideas and dreams on Sunday, handling finances on Tuesday, and letting go of the harsh edges in relationships. Midweek is a great time to explore the neighborhood and return any overlooked text messages. When Friday rolls around, you may need to have a heavy conversation with your partner. The weekend is a great one to stay home.

This week’s mantra: “diverge”

680x400 Scorpio%402x

Scorpio (October 22 - November 21)

The Moon in your sign makes it all feel personal, but you’re likely riding the waves and getting stuff done. This is one of those weeks where your natural intensity vibes with the intense skies, and you may feel more in your element. Just keep an eye out for family stuff that might annoy you. It may need to be addressed in the future, but it’s best to hold your tongue for now.

This week’s mantra: “work”

Cheeky illustration of a Black woman with purple hair on an orange background. She's in a wearing jean jacket, with a quiver strapped across her back and arrows sticking out.

Sagittarius (November 22 - December 21)

The week starts off a little introspectively while you sort some internal things out. You’re trying to balance your personal needs with how to manage time effectively, and sometimes the system has no chill. Things should stabilize midweek when the Moon enters your sign. By Friday, though, your creative projects start to feel like work. It’s a mixed bag, but not a tragedy.

This week’s mantra: “humming”

A cheeky image of a woman of color with dark hair holding a pink goat by the horns. The background is pink and her shirt is darker pink.

Capricorn (December 22 - January 19)

Your hopes and dreams for the future are on the drawing board this month, and this week they hit a pinch point with financial realities that might feel overwhelming. Try to steady yourself and reach out to spiritual practices to ground yourself. Home becomes an increasingly relevant topic as you consider what supports you can lean on while the ground feels a little shaky.

This week’s mantra: “present”

Cheeky image of a Black woman with blue hair on a light blue background. She's holding blue water in her palms, which is bubbling up and taking shape as her hair.

Aquarius (January 20 - February 18)

The wave breaks along your professional goals and how much exposure you can bear. Use your intuition to find the words when your intellect stumbles. There’s medicine in the tough moments, even when they feel overwhelming. Your ability to respond with grace is being tested. You have more skill here than you know.

This week’s mantra: “choose your words”

Cheeky illustration of a gender-fluid white person with short-cropped orange hair. They're wearing a light blue halter top as two bright pink koi fish circle their head.

Pisces (February 19 - March 20)

The week begins managing relationships and kids and trying to have a bit of fun along the way. But what your goals are for the future are unclear. There’s an inward pull that has you reconsidering many things deep inside you. Let others think what they want; you’re involved in private transformations that will change the course of your life once they’ve come to fruition.

This week’s mantra: “reflect”
