The tone of the week is decidedly expansive. It begins on Sunday the 5th with a contest of wills between the Sun and Jupiter, but the vibe is jovial. The Sun is especially empowered, bringing about spring in the northern hemisphere, and Jupiter in supportive Cancer is enthusiastically nurturing everything. The tricky bit of this contact is the tendency to want to say yes to everything and to expand in all directions at once. An optimistic moon in Sagittarius is all too ready to get carried away.
By Wednesday the 8th, the energy sobers when the moon enters pragmatic Capricorn. Mars and Uranus come together, inspiring unconventional paths to get from point A to point B.
Thursday the 9th is the headline of the week for two reasons: The first is Mercury clears the space of the zodiac where its retrograde occurred, meaning we’re completely done with the topics reviewed over the course of its retrograde cycle. The drama will go out with a whisper, maybe a final note of resolution in your journal.
The second event of Thursday is the entrance of Mars into Aries. This is a key shift in the month that accelerates action and decision making. Doing it for the plot is a much louder imperative with Mars in Aries. Acting on impulse is nearly inevitable, which can be effective or multiply mistakes faster than you can do damage control. Mars will have to contend with nebulous Neptune and austere Saturn in Aries this year, giving greater weight to what occurs in Mars’s time there. Mars will be in Aries until May 18.
