Some weeks contain so many shifts that by the time we reach the end of them, we feel like it has been months or years. This is one of those weeks. April 2026 was always going to be a huge month in the story of the year, and April 19 through 25, specifically, contains the most intense moments of a very potent month. Buckle up, buttercup.

On Sunday, Mars and Saturn come together for their once-every-two-years conference. Mars is a planet of action. It moves things forward and takes a stand against whatever antagonizes it. Saturn is the weight of the status quo, the limit of what is possible and the obstacle in the way. When these two meet, contests arise. Will Mars be able to push through, or will Saturn halt Mars’s plans? In our individual lives, we will fall on either side of this equation. Some of us will feel like we hit a roadblock just when we were picking up speed, while others will feel the sudden forceful impact of someone else’s desire for change. The fallout from either will continue throughout the week.

The other key event of Sunday is the Sun’s movement into Taurus. Taurus tries to regulate the mad dash of Aries into something predictable, but this year Taurus season has its work cut out for it. Our crowning purpose, embodied by the Sun, is undergoing intense change. The peak moment of this will occur on Saturday, the 25th, when the Sun tangles with transformative Pluto.

Monday continues the Mars-Saturn contest, as cerebral Mercury comes together first with Saturn and then with Mars. Mercury brings fire to the debate and uses contests of reason to seek to persuade, though this is more likely to inflame the situation than to placate the players.

Venus takes the reins on Thursday when it comes together with unpredictable Uranus before leaving behind Taurus for Gemini. Venus and Uranus together set the scene for unexpected love connections, financial market instability, and quirky design choices. Venus in Gemini is the master of love games.

Finally, on Saturday, the 25th, Uranus makes its final exit from its eight-year stint in Taurus to spend the next six in Gemini. It brings sudden insight, upheaval and rebellion to a new area of your life. Let a new rambunctious story begin.
