The Royal Family Just Fixed a *Major* Mistake in Meghan Markle’s Bio

We can finally let out a sigh of relief now that the royal family has added Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s second child, Lilibet “Lili” Diana, to the British line of succession. To top it off, they also corrected another major mistake on their official website.

Earlier this week, we stumbled upon Markle’s bio on the digital platform, which describes her affiliation with the royal family. In the second sentence, there was an obvious error regarding the number of children she has.

“The Duke and Duchess have one child, Archie Mountbatten-Windsor,” it read. The information was obviously incorrect, since Prince Harry and Markle welcomed baby Lilibet on June 4.

The royal family must have caught wind of the mistake because they corrected it a few days later. It now reads, “The Duke and Duchess have two children, Archie Mountbatten-Windsor and Lilibet Mountbatten-Windsor.”

So, why was the error originally overlooked? Well, our first thought is the Duchess of Sussex’s lack of royal family involvement. She and Prince Harry previously stepped down as senior members of the royal family. As a result, the couple shut down their Sussex Royal brand and relocated to Montecito, California. Since they’re no longer tied to official duties, perhaps Markle’s bio is no longer a priority.

Our second thought is that someone simply forgot to update it. It took more than a month for the royal family to adjust the British line of succession to include the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s second child in the eighth spot. (Although we assumed Lili would be added to the list, we weren’t positive because her parents are no longer active members of the fam.)

On the other hand, Prince Harry’s bio has no mention of Markle, Archie or Lilibet. Although it goes into detail about his philanthropic initiatives, it doesn’t have any information about his family life, excluding a brief mention about his departure as a senior royal.

It’s all in the details.
