It’s a proven fact: Guac and chips are the best party snack of all time. But every time we smash our avocados and assemble the dip ahead of time, it turns brown in five seconds.
Thankfully, we learned an easy hack for keeping guacamole green and fresh. All you need is one ingredient you probably already have in your kitchen: cooking spray.
Next time you make a bowl of guac, spray the top of the dip with nonstick vegetable oil, olive oil or coconut oil spray. Then cover the dip with plastic wrap and store it in the fridge. Your guacamole should stay fresh for about 24 hours. This trick works to preserve halved avocados, too.
