It's one thing to see Taylor Swift perform her hit song, "Shake It Off," on stage. It's another to see the pop star actually live out those words while supporting her boyfriend from the sidelines.

In case you missed it, Swift attended the Super Bowl in New Orleans this weekend to cheer on her partner Travis Kelce and the Kansas City Chiefs as they faced off against the Philadelphia Eagles. However, when she appeared on the jumbotron at Caesars Superdome, she didn't get a positive response from the crowd. Several people booed the "Bad Blood" singer, and though she initially looked perplexed at the reaction, she quickly smiled and laughed it off.

In footage shared by the NFL on Instagram, Swift slowly turns to her friend Ice Spice and gives the crowd a bit of side-eye before shaking off the negative reaction with a laugh. As you'd expect, fans were quick to defend her in the comments. One person wrote, "We love you, Taylor! You’re just supporting your man, nothing wrong with that."

Eagles supporters likely booed the singer because she was rooting for the opposing team. Even so, her good friend Serena Williams—who made a surprise cameo during Kendrick Lamar’s halftime performance —couldn't let this slide without supporting her friend on social media. On Twitter, she wrote, "I love you @taylorswift13, don't listen to those booo!!"

The athlete's kind words for Swift came just a few months after she attended the pop star's Eras Tour in Miami. In October 2024 on IG, she posted a video of herself happily dancing at the concert and wrote, "Oh, just a causal Swiftie over here (maybe not so causal) @taylorswift #miami #erastour."

It's also worth noting that Williams and Swift's friendship spans over a decade. Not only have they hung out on several occasions, but also, during the 1989 World Tour in London, the tennis champion was invited to join Swift on stage. During her performance of "Style," Williams got to join stars like Karlie Kloss, Cara Delevingne and Kylie Jenner as they all strut down the runway.
