Here’s all the royal news you need to know for the week of May 11, 2023.

  • All eyes were on the royal family members, including Prince Harry, whose body language indicated that he didn't “seem fazed by the fact he is on his own, he [seemed] to be quite happy,” according to expert Darren Stanton on behalf of Betfair Casino.
  • Meanwhile, King Charles's body language suggested that he was quite nervous at the beginning, but as the ceremony at Westminster Abbey progressed, he appeared more at ease (even if he seemed a little emo, too).
  • Prince Harry and Prince William were not seen interacting during the ceremony, however, Prince Harry did have a special moment with his cousin's husband, Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi.
  • Of course, Prince George caught everyone's eye as one of the Pages of Honour, where he made history as the youngest future monarch to ever participate in a coronation ceremony. Queen Camilla's grandsons, and her grand-nephew, also served as Pages of Honour.
  • Still, Prince Louis stole everyone's thunder, pulling out more of his hilarious facial expressions (and yawning throughout most of the day).
  • The coronation included many notable family interactions, including one sweet moment when Prince William performed the Royal Homage and kissed his father on the cheek. Immediately after, King Charles was seen saying, “Thank you, William.”
  • Prince Harry seemed especially reverent in one clip, where he went for a long bow as his father processed past.
  • After the ceremony at Westminster Abbey, King Charles and Queen Camilla shared a romantic moment on the Buckingham Palace balcony, where they seemed so in love as they smiled at one another.
  • Princess Charlotte was seen showing off her royal etiquette, when she curtseyed to her granddad as he arrived to the coronation concert. She also showed off her impressive royal wave along with her siblings.
  • We had our eyes on the new Fab Four, but they did not have any interactions at the coronation ceremony (likely due to the fact that they were seated rows apart).
  • In typical royal fashion, the weekend was full of historical significance, from King Charles's coronation cross (which is believed to contain pieces from the crucifixion cross) to the procession coaches (the Gold State Coach is 260 years old, while the Diamond Jubilee State Coach was built for QEII's Diamond Jubilee).
  • King Charles made a wink to his horse-loving mother by using the steed from her funeral procession to lead his own coronation procession.
  • The anointing of King Charles was hidden from the public with a screen, because this moment has historically been considered a sacred interaction between the sovereign and God.
  • Sarah Ferguson was notably absent from the coronation, but weeks before, the Duchess of York had confirmed she wouldn't be present, due to her divorce from Prince Andrew.
  • At the coronation concert, Prince William made a speech to honor his father, giving a shoutout to Queen Elizabeth in the process.
