We’ve all heard the saying, “like mother, like daughter.” And if we're being honest, it’s a cliché for a reason. Whether it’s personality traits, quirks or just those unmistakable genes, some family resemblances are just too strong to ignore. Case in point? Mark Consuelos and his son Joaquin looking like literal twins on a family trip or Nicole Kidman and her daughters Faith and Sunday, all rocking that signature curly hair. And now? It’s Reese Witherspoon and her daughter Ava Phillippe taking the lookalike crown.

On September 9, Reese, 49, took to Instagram to share a glowing birthday tribute to her daughter Ava, who just turned 26. In the photo, The Morning Show star is beaming as she stands next to Ava, both smiling with their arms wrapped around each other. Aside from the subtle difference in hair color (Reese’s classic blonde vs. Ava’s deeper hue), the resemblance is uncanny, especially those signature blue eyes.

“Happy 26th my sweet girl @avaphillippe! You have changed my life in all the best ways. I love you,” the Legally Blonde alum, who who shares her daughter with ex-husband Ryan Phillippe, wrote in the caption.

Ava responded with a short but sweet comment: “Love u mama.”

Reese didn’t stop there, she also shared the photo to her Stories, adding, “Happy Birthday to my sweet girl and “I love you to the moon & back @avaphillippe.”

And if you thought Reese and Ava looked alike, just wait until you see Reese’s mom. On August 18, to celebrate her mom Betty’s birthday, the Cruel Intentions actress posted a few snaps of the two grabbing lunch. Not only were they twinning in matching black outfits, but their faces? Practically copy-paste. The hair, the smile, the nose, the eyes, it’s all there.

Safe to say, the Witherspoon genes are strong. And adorable.
