Nicole Kidman Shares Rare Peek at Her Private Life (& Her Mini-Me Daughters) on Instagram

As August winds down (and the unofficial end of summer nears), a lot of people are reflecting on all the sun-soaked fun they've had these past few months. Others are already gearing up to get their kids back into the school-year groove, complete with backpacks and even Harry Potter–themed back-to-school parties (genius, honestly). Turns out, even celebs like Nicole Kidman are right there with us.

Nicole, who (if you’ve scrolled through her Instagram) tends to keep things pretty private, gave fans a rare glimpse into her off-duty life. The Australian actress shared a mini summer photo dump featuring sweet moments from the past few months. In the mix? Shots of the Holland star diving into the water, sunsets, and music festivals. She also included a few heartfelt family snaps, including ones with her daughters Faith, 14, and Sunday, 17, both of whom she shares with husband Keith Urban.

In one photo, Nicole’s wearing a blue patterned crop top and skirt set, hugging Sunday. Another similar shot shows her with her youngest, Faith. One detail I picked up on was that the girls seem to take after their mom in the hair department. Not in color, both are brunettes, but definitely in texture. Their curls are total Kidman.

“Summer memories,” she captioned the Tuesday, August 19 carousel post. “Now back to school.”

At first glance, it may seem like your typical end-of-summer post. But as PureWow Senior Editor Dana Dickey points out, it’s actually a bit out of character for Nicole.

“She usually saves this for friends and family, but in this supercut of her family summer, she’s rocking her natural curls and looking great,” Dickey said.

And it’s true. Back in July, fans got a peek at Nicole’s natural hair (straightened) when she attended the Balenciaga Haute Couture Fall/Winter 2025/2026 show during Paris Fashion Week. That same month, in a photo dump shared by her niece, Lucia Hawley, we saw those signature textured curls in full force.

Wigs, straightened, natural—whatever the look, one thing’s clear: Nicole Kidman can pull it all off.
