Princess Eugenie took a moment to lift the public’s spirits with some throwback Instagram photos over the weekend.
The 30-year-old princess celebrated the United Kingdom’s Mother’s Day with a slideshow featuring not one, but two epic childhood photographs of herself and her older sister Princess Beatrice in matching outfits. The result is seriously ’90s (and very cute).
Eugenie captioned the slideshow, “Happy Mother’s Day!! Today I want to celebrate my mumma but also all the amazing mothers out there. I would like to celebrate all the mothers that can’t be with their children today because they are saving lives or keeping their distance to keep them and their children safe. Today and every day we should tell our loved ones how much we love and cherish them.”
Although the first photo showed a more recent photo of Princess Eugenie and her husband, Jack Brooksbank, with her mother Sarah Ferguson, the Duchess of York, the second and third pics are #TBT gold.
In the first throwback photo, toddler-aged Eugenie and Beatrice throw toothy smiles at the camera. They wear matching floral A-line dresses with darling Peter Pan collars and headbands with yellow bows. Fergie hugs them from behind while outfitted in a coordinated yellow sweater.
The next photo shows the princesses in outfits you’d only see in the ’90s. The little ones wear jean circle skirts and shearling-trimmed jean jackets, both with bedazzled pockets. They accessorized their lewks with pink flat-brimmed baseball caps and hot pink belts. Meanwhile, Fergie matches the shade of their headwear yet again with a pink blouse.
