Prince Harry Says He Asked This Relative for an Autograph Years Before They Married into the Royal Fam

Prince Harry just revealed that he knew his cousin-in-law, Mike Tindall, before Mike married into the royal family. Tindall is now married to Harry’s cousin, Zara, but at the time, he was a professional rugby player, and Prince Harry was a fan.

The Duke of Sussex appeared on a recent episode of The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, where he discussed everything from his favorite smell to his go-to sandwich. During the rapid-fire questions, the host asked if Prince Harry has ever fangirled over a celebrity. The royal confirmed that he asked a group of athletes, including Tindall, for their autograph back in 2003.

In the footage (see above), Prince Harry referenced the Rugby World Cup final in Sydney, Australia. The royal revealed that he approached some players after England defeated the Australian team. The athletes included Jonny Wilkinson, Lawrence Dallaglio and—you guessed it—Mike Tindall.

“Have you ever asked someone for their autograph?” Colbert said. When Prince Harry confirmed, Colbert encouraged the royal to share more information.

“The England Rugby team in 2003 at the World Cup final after a few drinks,” Prince Harry said at the 3:34 mark. “I was walking around going, ‘Jonny, Jonny! Mike, Mike! Lawrence! Come on, sign my shirt.’”

“They were all standing there naked with their willies hanging out,” Prince Harry continued. “But I got all 15 signatures, and I was very happy with that.”

Tindall started dating his now-wife shortly after England’s victory at the Rugby World Cup. The couple tied the knot in 2011 in an intimate ceremony at Canongate Kirk in Edinburgh. They share three children together, Mia (9), Lena (4) and Lucas (1).

What a priceless story.
