Kate Middleton is sporty, this we know. But when she paid a visit to Twickenham Stadium in early February and participated in a basic training session with England’s rugby team—a royal duty related to her recently assigned role as patron of the Rugby Football Union and Rugby Football League—our mouths dropped. Her athleticism as she demonstrated a line-out play (when a player gets hoisted into the air to receive a ball after it goes out of bounds) was next-level.
Apparently, we weren’t the only ones who thought so.
On this week’s episode of the Royally Obsessed podcast, my co-host Roberta Fiorito and I discuss Kate’s cousin-in-law Mike Tindall—who’s married to Princess Anne’s daughter Zara and happens to be a former English rugby union player—and his reaction to Kate’s appearance on the field, as shared on his weekly podcast The Good, the Bad & the Rugby.
