Before the outing, Middleton wrote on Instagram: “I am so thrilled to become Patron of the Rugby Football League and Rugby Football Union – two fantastic organizations who are committed to harnessing the power that sport can have in bringing communities together and helping individuals flourish. I look forward to working with them across all levels of the games, and to cheering England on in what promises to be an exciting year for both sports! C.”
The outing marked her first appearance as patron, a role which was previously held by her brother-in-law, Prince Harry. According to Hello Magazine, while speaking to the players on the team, Middleton revealed that her sons, Prince George and Prince Louis, are talented rugby players. She added that Louis was a “kamikaze” on the field.
The Duchess shared that George plays rugby with his classmates at school. “They're all enjoying it,” Middleton said. “We're worrying about when [Louis] gets older, he’ll be in the middle of everything.”
Well, we can see where George and Louis get their love for rugby from. Middleton has been a fan of the sport since childhood and has been known to attend matches in the U.K.
In an interview with Vanity Fair, the duchess’s young sister, Pippa Middleton, revealed that the entire family has a love for the sport. "Rugby was a big thing for our family, and the focal point was international matches, which were often played on Saturday afternoons and were as much social as sporting occasions,” she explained.
Kate better keep an eye on George and Louis because she might have some serious rugby players on her hands.
