Kerry Washington Shares a Throwback with Her ‘Scandal’ Fam

While many actors play part of a fictional family on screen, those who spend years working with their co-stars end up developing very strong bonds in real life. Kerry Washington, who played the role of Olivia Pope on Scandal for seven seasons, knows this all too well. As the show ran from 2012 to 2018, Washington became quite close with her fellow cast members, and she used her latest Instagram post to show that she is missing her “Scandal fam.”

It seems Washington was inspired by her former co-star, Katie Lowes, who played Quinn Perkins on the political drama series. Lowes has been using her own account to share throwbacks from her Scandal days, and Washington thought she might just do the same.

The 44-year-old star shared a picture that was taken from the red carpet at the Paley Center For Media's 32nd Annual PaleyFest, back in 2015. In the snap, Washington poses alongside other Scandal stars, like Lowes, Guillermo Diaz, Scott Foley, Tony Goldwyn, Bellamy Young, Jeff Perry, Darby Stanchfield and Joshua Malina. Jimmy Kimmel, who acted as a moderator during the event, also jumped into the photo.

“Missing #TGIT thanks to all of @ktqlowes‘s throwbacks!” Washington said in the caption. Back when it aired on ABC, Scandal was a part of the TGIT (“Thank God It's Thursday”) lineup, which included other hit Shonda Rhimes shows, like How to Get Away with Murder and Grey's Anatomy. At the end of her caption, Washington added, “Love you #ScandalFam #TBT.”

The actress's former co-stars loved the throwback, like Perry, who said, “Awwwww LOVESSS U ALL‼️ #scandalfam.” Meanwhile, Kimmel also commented, saying, “Feels like a billion years ago...”

We will happily soak up these throwbacks while we wait for a reunion.
